Detached Barn and Outbuilding Power
Detached structures on bigger Utah lots need a real power plan: underground feed from the house, properly sized conductors, an independent grounding electrode system, and lighting and outlets sized for what you actually do out there. Common in Hooper, Plain City, and the larger lots in Weber and Davis County.
Trench and conductor sizing
We trench properly (24″ minimum for direct-bury or 18″ in conduit per NEC), size the conductors for the run length plus future capacity, and pull through PVC with pull boxes where needed.
Independent grounding
Detached structures need their own grounding electrode system — ground rods at the outbuilding, properly bonded to the subpanel.
Agricultural considerations
Equipment outlets, livestock fencing isolation, well-pump circuits — we handle the unusual loads that come with rural properties.
