Security Cameras & Access Control

A consumer doorbell camera is a notification. A real security system is a network of PoE IP cameras feeding an on-premise recorder, with motion zones, retention policy, and access control on the doors that matter. We design and install both — and we are happy to tell you when the cheap option will actually do the job.

IP cameras over PoE

Every camera we install is a PoE IP camera, powered and networked over a single Cat6 cable back to a PoE switch or NVR. No wall-warts, no analog video, no separate power runs. That makes installation cleaner and the system far more reliable.

On-prem NVR vs cloud-only

Cloud-only camera systems (Ring, Nest, etc.) are simple but expensive over time and dependent on internet. A local NVR (Hikvision, Reolink, Ubiquiti, etc.) gives you full recordings on-site with no monthly fee, plus optional remote viewing. For most homes and small commercial sites, NVR-plus-app is the right answer.

Access control basics

Card or fob readers, mag locks, or electric strikes at controlled doors — managed through a controller that logs every entry. Useful for offices, multi-tenant buildings, contractor sites, and high-end homes with cleaning crews or other recurring visitors.

Designing for what you actually need

The biggest mistake we see is too many low-quality cameras and not enough thought about coverage. Two well-placed 4K cameras at chokepoints beat eight cheap cameras everywhere. We do site walks before quoting.
